We have studied the manipulation and separation of substance using the horizontal magnetic Archimedes effect. By creating a magnetic potential gradient in the horizontal direction, it is possible to move only the target substance to the horizontal direction in the medium. In this paper, we attempted to manipulate and separate the substance by applying the horizontal magnetic Archimedes force to the substance falling vertically in the medium. In order to improve the horizontal magnetic force, we inserted a ferromagnetic array in the bore of the superconducting magnet. We succeeded in separating the material mixture dropped to the vertical direction due to the horizontal magnetic force. Since the horizontal magnetic force depends on only the density and magnetic susceptibility of each substance, it is possible to separate a specific substance from the mixture. It is expected that this is a new device for substance separation.
