Noise inclusion in JoSIM simulations of Josephson junction circuit
*Johannes A. Delport1, Coenrad J. Fourie1

The inclusion of thermal and phase noise in transient analyses of superconductor circuits with Josephson junctions is important for circuit operating margin validation. Superconductor circuit designers until recently only had JSIM_n with support for thermal noise as a simulation and verification tool. We show how the inclusion of noise in voltage, current and phase sources is handled in JoSIM. We also discuss the noise parameters that circuit designers can use, such as noise effective bandwidth and temperature. The implementation of noise and temperature is demonstrated through a typical AQFP gate. This example shows how the inclusion of noise deteriorates simulated margins.
